privacy
what we collect, and why.
Plain-language privacy notice for Got Nerve Games. The short version: the demo needs no account, analytics are cookie-free, and signing up for launch updates saves what your login gives us, plus where you came from and when you signed up.
What this covers
This notice covers the Got Nerve Games website: the demo, the launch updates list and the optional login that goes with it. It says what is collected, who handles it, how long it is kept and how to have it deleted.
Live mode with real money is not open. When it is, this notice will say what that adds. The companies named below have their own notices too.
Browsing and the demo
You do not need an account to look around or to play the demo. Your demo balance, game history, settings, whether you dismissed the launch updates card or signed up, and your age confirmation stay in your browser (local storage on your device). We do not receive them. The one exception is where you came from (the referring site's name and the utm tags in the link): your browser keeps a copy until you close the tab, and that copy is sent to us only if you sign up.
Our host, Vercel, handles every request to the site and sees your IP address, as any host does. We use the country it works out from that address only to apply the region block, and the site does not save it.
Analytics
We count visits with Vercel Web Analytics. It does not use cookies and does not follow you from one site to another. Vercel tells one visitor from another for a day using a hash made from the request, and that hash is discarded after 24 hours.
Each page view records the time, the page address, the site that sent you, your country and region, and your device type, operating system and browser. Private room codes and table ids are removed from the page address before it is sent. The same goes for the one-time sign-in codes Privy adds to the address when you come back from a Google, X or Telegram sign-in.
We also count a few actions: a game starting or finishing, a rematch at the same table, a room link being copied, the launch updates card appearing between demo games or being dismissed, and a sign-up button being pressed or a sign-up going through. These events carry no name, email, wallet address or Privy ID. They carry only coarse labels, such as demo or live, the game mode, which sign-up button it was, whether you survived your last game, or how you logged in.
On the way from the demo to a real table we count the same way: the play button you pressed, which game you picked, whether you chose a demo, a real table or a private table, how many demo games you have finished, as 1, 2, 3 to 5 or 6 and more, the real table card appearing after a demo game or being tapped, the start of joining a real table, a sign-in finishing, the deposit sheet opening, your first deposit going through, never an amount, a private table being created, an invite link being opened, signed in or not, and the theme you pick. Private table codes are removed from the page address first.
Launch updates
Signing up for launch updates is optional and free. It gives no rewards, returns or token allocation, and it is not a presale or a sale of any token. It only puts you on a list.
When you sign up we save one row:
- your Privy user ID, so you can only be on the list once;
- your email address, if your login has one (a Google account counts; a Telegram sign-in does not give one);
- your wallet address, if you have one;
- your Telegram user ID and username, if you log in with Telegram (not everyone has a username), so we can reach you there;
- how you logged in: email, Google, X, Telegram or wallet;
- when you signed up;
- if present, the site that sent you (its hostname only) and the utm tags in the link you came from.
Our server checks your login with Privy before it saves anything. It never takes an ID, an email or an address from your browser on trust.
Logging in with Privy
Privy runs the login: your email code, your Google, X or Telegram sign-in, or your wallet connection. Privy keeps your account record (your email, linked accounts and wallet addresses). It is a separate company with its own privacy policy.
The login code is not part of the page. It is fetched from this site when you point at, tab to or touch a sign-up button (on the home page, in the top bar of the demo, the docs and the other app pages such as the lobby and the leaderboard, or between demo games). Your browser does not contact Privy's servers, or the wallet services its code uses (WalletConnect), until you press a sign-up button, or come back from a Google, X or Telegram sign-in you started in this tab. Until then, none of them saves anything in your browser. Once the login code is running (after a press, or after a return from a sign-in), it can stay running as you move between pages of this site, until you close or reload the page.
Once it runs, Privy sees your IP address and browser details. It loads a hidden frame from privy.io (it runs the embedded wallet described below) that can keep its own data under Privy's policy. It keeps entries of its own in your browser's local storage for this site: a client analytics ID, which it sends along with its requests; a note that it has already reported its own setup to Privy's servers; and a list of the wallets it can use for you, which holds the address of the wallet Privy creates for you once you log in. Whichever way you log in, it also starts two wallet libraries (WalletConnect and Base), which keep their own settings in local storage and in two small databases in your browser, and a request goes out from your browser to WalletConnect (explorer-api.walletconnect.com), which therefore sees your IP address and that the request came from this site. When you log in Privy also keeps your login in that local storage and sets two cookies on this site, privy-token and privy-session, so that you stay logged in. The cookies exist because you asked to log in. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes all of these entries. Vercel's analytics above sets no cookies.
If you sign in with Google, X or Telegram, that company learns that you used it to sign in here. It tells Privy who you are on its service (for Telegram: your Telegram ID, name, username and profile picture), and Privy keeps that with your account.
Embedded wallets
If you log in without a wallet, Privy creates an embedded wallet for you. Privy manages its keys. We never see or hold them and we cannot move anything in it. We do not send anything to it, and signing up involves no payment and no transaction.
We save the address of that wallet, or of the wallet you connected, on the launch updates list. A wallet address is public on the chain, but saved next to your email it can be linked to you.
If you connect your own wallet, Privy asks you to sign a short message to prove it is yours. That is not a transaction and it costs nothing.
How long we keep it
Sign-up entries are kept until the launch updates list closes or you ask us to delete yours, whichever comes first. Vercel keeps Web Analytics data under its own policy, in aggregate and without anything that identifies you. Privy keeps your account until it is deleted.
Delete requests and contact
To have your entry deleted, write to the address below from the email you used, or tell us which login you used. We will delete the entry and ask Privy to delete your account for this app. To be forgotten at Privy everywhere, ask Privy about your account as well.
No contact address is published yet. Until there is one nobody can take a delete request, so sign up only if you are comfortable with that.
Got Nerve Games is 18+ and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. We may update this notice: the date at the top shows the latest version. It is a draft and has not had a legal review yet. See also the terms.
